Sandy Thorpe moved to Miami from Chicago in 1988, and began working for Marty Taplin in 1996.

A master storyteller, Marty regaled her with tales of a different Miami, "his Miami," as he experienced it as a young child during World War II, when he watched in awe as troops marched down Collins Avenue, and then in later years, as he saw South Beach bloom, the building boom and the transformation of Miami from a resort town into an international city.

Intrigued, Sandy became a student of history at Miami-Dade Community College and developed a deep appreciation for Miami - and for the people who put the "magic" in the "Magic City."

An admitted "Trekkie," Sandy's first passion is Star Trek® and she has traveled all over the world on her "never ending mission to seek out new life and new civilizations" in the Star Trek Universe.

She is also an accomplished artist and her screen credits include brief appearances in both Trekkies and Trekkies 2!
